What better way to celebrate Earth Day than in the company of some of the world’s most endangered animals? Get up close to nature with some of the last species of their kind, or get a glimpse of newly born wild animals. The park is one of the largest wildlife conservancies in the area. April 15 is the last day to enjoy frolicking with the butterflies – but no worries, a new butterfly pavilion just opened at the Natural History Museum of Los Angeles.
Saturday, April 21
Learn about caring for the environment at the various booths that will be located at the aquarium for Earth Day. There will be information available from earth-friendly organizations, eager to help teach visitors. There will be hands-on demonstrations, and visitors can save $7 on admission by bringing any e-waste to the event. The weekend long celebration will start on April 21st from 9-5pm. Cost of the event is free with paid admission to the aquarium.
Sunday April 22
Bring the family down to the Nokia Plaza for this fun and informative Earth Day Fair. Visit the various booths to learn more information about caring for the environment. Enjoy the live entertainment, and participate in a meet-n-greet with various athletes and celebrities. The event will be happening on April 22nd from 12-6pm.
Eco-Station Children’s Earth Day

Encourage children to become “green” at this all -day children’s festival. There will be live entertainment, food, games, vendors, and educational activities for children. Over 40,000 people attended last year, so plan to arrive early. The event will be happening on April 22nd from 10am-4pm.
Newport Bay Conservancy Center

Learn about the Earth, by exploring environmental exhibits at the Newport Bay Conservancy Center. There will be fun for the whole family with scavenger hunts, craft booths, opportunity drawings, and live music performed by Jason Feddy. Last year over 1,000 people attended the event at their environmentally friendly facility. The free event will be on Sunday, April 22nd at 10am.
May 20
Celebrate a love for the environment at this fun, and educational Earth Day event. Featured speakers will be talking at the event to help education the community on how to better care for our Earth. There will be children’s activities, music, environmental non-profits, and more! Pre-sale tickets are available for $7, with tickets at the door will be available for $9. The event will take place on May 20th from 10:30-7pm, at Woodley Park
Disney Chimpanzee Earth Day Movie
Hollywood, CA 90028
Take the family to a local theatre to watch the newly released movie Chimpanzee. A portion of all ticket sales of the film will go to the Jane Goodall Institute, to help protect wild Chimpanzee. There is also a free downloadable educational guide online to use with your children before seeing the film.
